Ashtanga Yoga is a definite sequence of various Hatha Yoga Asanas or poses that are coupled with a certain set of breathing techniques called ‘Ujjayi Pranayama’. This sequence was developed by the famous Hatha Yoga Master of the 20th century - Yogi K Pattabhi Jois. The source of Ashtanga yoga Primary Series is an ancient Hatha yoga text known as ‘Yoga Korunta’. Our 200 hour Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training Course with Primary Series course is for the yoga practitioners of all levels. The course is a bit intense on body and mind. Difficulty level increases day by day.
Our wise and experienced teachers make sure that all students are able to perform and learn in a very non-competitive and peaceful manner. It is recommended that all students start doing gentle yoga before coming for this course at home.
All instructions in the course are in English only, so a basic understanding of English is required. For better adaptation with the environment, we recommend our students to arrive Rishikesh at least two days before the course date.
This will help you acclimatize better and give some time to relax before the course kick starts. Further Rishikesh is a small city with good market. All the necessary supplies are available here, so bringing many books and too much material is not needed. Travel light and be more peaceful.
I've read a lot of reviews about yoga schools in Rishikesh, and it seems like a lot are fake, or written by someone who never attended the course, so I started asking myself, how can I write a review that conveys truth.
In some ways, my expectations were exceeded. The experience as a whole was a good one and worth the cost which is comparatively low. The food was consistently good.
The location of the school is perfect, in the center so its an easy walk to cafes and shops but tucked a little further up on the mountain so you have a beautiful view.This is definitely a traditional Indian Ashram accommodation being very basic but nice for India standards. There isn't an outdoor area to hang out or read so much and the rooms are a little dark. The yoga hall however is beautiful big and airy.

Sri Yoga Ashram provides comfortable accommodation during our 200 Hour Ashtanga Yoga TTC in Rishikesh. We provide Single and Double accommodation according to the choice of the students. All rooms are equipped with Twin beds, basic furniture like chair & table. All rooms have attached toilet and bathroom with running hot water facility. There is unlimited wifi internet for the students. The ashram is located in a very peaceful area in Laxman Jhula, surrounded by green forest from three sides. A small mountain stream runs just next to the Ashram, creating sweet melodies to the ears. From the roof top and Yoga Shala you get a 360 degree view of mountains and river Ganga. There is a small library in the ashram premises for students.
We serve three Indian Vegetarian meals daily. We ensure the healthy preparation of the food. Food is cooked in RO purified water only. There are always many dishes in all meals providing few options to our students. Breakfast consists of sandwiches, fruits, sprouts, porridge, upma and poha. Same way in the lunch and dinner there are dishes like Chapati, rice, daal, chickpeas, few season vegetables, salad, yoghurt and dessert. We assure that you will enjoy the food in Sri Yoga Ashram.
The Confirmation Fee is 210 USD (10 USD is just for PayPal or bank transfer charge). This is non-refundable but may be transferred to any other upcoming Yoga Teacher Training course.
If you cannot come to our YTTC after paying the confirmation fee you can use it towards any future course or program. The Confirmation Fee is the part of the entire course fee. The rest of the course fee balance must be paid in cash on the first day of the course either in Euros, US Dollars, British Pounds or INR (amount according to the Exchange rate on the date of payment).
